Sather Jewelry reps attend national jewelry buying show

Robert Otto and Janet Otto from Sather Jewelry recently attended the 2015 Retail Jewelers Organization (RJO) Spring Buying Show in San Antonio, Texas. Sather Jewelry joined hundreds of other jewelers from around the country to learn about new trends, attend educational sessions, and network with others in the industry.

Casino Night

Residents at Benedictine Living Center of Spooner had a special treat on February 12 when the Spooner-Trego Lions hosted Casino Night at the center. “Everyone had such a wonderful time!” said Rebecca Henning, recreation therapy director. “The laughter, love, and friendship that the Lions have shown speak louder than words to the staff and our residents at BLCS. When we go to the casino for an outing, we can only take a limited amount of residents at a time, so this event was very special and means a lot to bring such a joyful activity to their home. Each and every Lion is close and dear to our hearts!”

$2.48 million Spooner Fish Hatchery expansion starts this summer

The Gov. Tommy G. Thompson Fish Hatchery in Spooner is slated for a $2.48 million expansion this summer to increase walleye production by about 14 percent, said David Giehtbrock, the Department of Natural Resources fish production manager.
