Parents, teachers, advisors and students gathered early Friday morning, Dec. 9, at the NorthStar Community Charter School in a wing of the Northwood school building for Coffee Connections, an open house for the charter school.

NorthStar just opened its doors in September and is the newest charter school in Washburn County. It’s a multi-class, grades 4 through 8, approach using place-based curriculum via project-based learning with local heritage, culture and natural resources as the foundation for language arts, math, social studies, science and other subjects.
